Once the header is active, you will see a Header & Footer Tools Ribbon Tab at the top of the screen. Select the check box for Different First Page.If you select this box when your First Page Header is active, you will then be able to put one header on the first page and a different header on all the subsequent pages. It took me quite a while to find the corresponding options in Word 2011 to make the first page header/footer behave differently than the others. But I found it at the end by sheer luck after having it circumvented through another option. I just made some alterations to my resume to include a logo in the header in place of my name. My resume is already completed, so starting from scratch is not an option. How do I apply changes to any header options that would allow for me to use different headers on each page, rather than the same one mirrored on. Best Answer: EDIT: The easiest way: click into the header of the first page, then click on the purple-colored 'Headers and Footers' tab in the ribbon bar. Now tick the option 'Different first Page'. ------- Regard the following as the solution in case you want to create 3 or more different headers within the same document: This is based on Word 2011. First divide the document into two sections: Move the cursor to the end of the first page and choose Insert > Break > Section Break (Next Page). If you already inserted a Page Break, delete it. Now click into the header of the *second* page, then click into the purple-colored 'Headers and Footers' tab that will appear in the ribbon bar. In the ribbon, un-tick the option 'Link to Previous'. You can now 'close' the header, click into the header of the first page and edit it. The headers of the second section will not be changed by this anymore. (The option 'Show nonprinting characters' – see tool bar – would be helpful with this.). The Same As Previous button isn't active because you have only one section. This is OK, however, because page numbering doesn't depend on having multiple sections. This is all you have to do: 1.Click the Insert->Page Numbers menu item. 2.Set the Position and Alignment text boxes to put the page number where you want it. Free painting programs for pc. Pros: easy to use. To put any other text into the header, double click in the Header on the page and enter the text. Double click outside the header, or close the Header and Footer pop-up menu to get out. Hope that helps. • Tell us some more • Upload in Progress • Upload failed.
